In 2004, Redding Transformation was born from Jon Thompson’s vision for the healing of his city. Believing in the power of unity, he gathered hundreds of leaders across Shasta County — pastors, educators, city officials, and community influencers — to embrace God’s call to be salt and light.

 

That movement sparked a culture of prayer and partnership that continues today, with leaders believing for transformation in schools, businesses, agencies, churches, and neighborhoods throughout the region. Redding Transformation laid a strong foundation of love, compassion, and shared responsibility across our community.

 

In 2014, Redding Transformation became Shasta Thrive. While the name changed, the mission remained the same. With the Gospel at the center, Shasta Thrive continued this vision, focusing on low-income families, high-crime neighborhoods, and at-risk youth.

 

By mobilizing the Body of Christ as mentors, advocates, and encouragers, we’re not simply addressing poverty — we’re helping build stable, hope-filled futures that strengthen all of Shasta County.

 

Our Programs

 

Our three core programs are designed to lift up, care for and meet practical needs that build lasting hope in our community:

 

Bridges of Hope

Bridges of Hope connects individuals and families to personalized care and resources that restore stability. Guided by a compassionate Care Navigator, neighbors receive support such as connection to medical providers, transportation, enhanced case management, housing navigation and tools for healthy living.

 

Future Story Workshops

Future Story Workshops equip individuals facing challenges with practical tools, goal-setting strategies, and mentorship to help them build a thriving future. Within a supportive community, participants gain confidence and meaningful connections with others walking a similar journey.

 

Pray Shasta

Pray Shasta’s vision is to see people from every corner of Shasta County coming together in prayer. Together, we want to lift up our schools, neighborhoods, businesses, and leaders, releasing God’s goodness and grace to ignite hope, breakthrough, and transformation across our entire region.
