SMALL ACTS OF CARE CAN CHANGE SOMEONE’S STORY.

Through our new program, Shasta Thrive is stepping directly into the gaps of community need—providing flexible support that brings real, simple, and life-changing relief right where it’s needed most.

We met them through our Bridges of Hope program. After a few visits, we noticed several 5-gallon buckets scattered around their home. When we asked, they told us their roof had multiple leaks, bad enough that cracks had started spreading across the ceiling. We connected them to the local weatherization program, but they landed just above the income guidelines — too much to qualify, not enough to fix it themselves. A working family, doing everything right, and still without a way to fix it.

With the leaks making their home unsafe, they did what they could to hold things together — buckets under the drips, and hope that it would hold.

The Moores aren't the exception. As we've walked alongside families through Bridges of Hope this past year, we kept running into the same thing: a real, practical need that didn't fit inside any program's guidelines. Sometimes that gap looks like the Moores' — falling just outside the lines.  Other times, it's a hard season that throws a family's budget off balance: a job loss, a medical bill, a car repair they didn't see coming — and suddenly there's not enough left for food, clothing, rent, or the electric bill. Different families, different situations, same result: real needs going unmet.

That gap is exactly what Shasta Thrive's new Care Program is for.

Make a Contribution.
Change Your Neighbor’s Story.

Maybe it's groceries to provide healthy meals. Bus fare to reach a job interview. A home repair that turns a hazard into a safe home. Rent to help keep a family safely housed. A utility bill to keep the lights on.

The Care Program steps in right there, in the gap — providing financial assistance when it's needed most.

Alongside that assistance, we’ll offer coaching, mentoring, and classes on things like budgeting and nutrition — real tools that help a family find their footing and keep it.

And here's the beautiful part: we get to be generous because God has been so generous to us. When you give, you're passing that goodness along to someone right here at home.

We'd love for you to be part of the Moores' story, and the stories of neighbors like them.
